Life As A J Student

Allen Hall, which is the building for the School of Journalism and Communications at the University of Oregon, is home to journalism majors who sometimes spend more time there than they do their own homes. While some students are just finding their path in the journalism major as they go through the trials of Gateway, others have chosen the visual side of journalism as their desired career focus in which they undergo countless hours of photography and videography that can’t be taught in a traditional classroom. This photo essay demonstrates some of the situations and experiences that those students find themselves a part of as they prepare for their departure from “life as a J student” and into the professional world.
