Northern Lights Christmas Tree Farm

More than Just a Tree Farm

With 162 acres of land, the Northern Lights Christmas Tree farm devotes 80 acres to growing six different types of Christmas trees. The farm is owned by Bob and Lynn Schutte in Pleasant Hill, Oregon where they entertain visitors regularly throughout the year. The remaining acreage is full of fields, pasture, animals, forest, outbuildings, and farmhouses.

During the winter season the Schutte’s and their staff help families choose and cut Christmas trees while offering them a variety of other services. They have small tractor pulled hayrides, a tumbler service to shake out all of the bugs and extra needles from the tree while also wrapping it in string for easier travel home, and a retail store.

The retail store has a beverage menu filled with holiday flavored ciders, cocoas, teas, and coffees. And to go with those warm beverages, there’s a table full of baked goods, jellies, and more for visitors to enjoy. While visitors shop in the store they have several trees adorned with ornaments and ribbon all for purchase. Each tree has a different theme of ornaments ranging from sports to snowmen to animals.

Throughout the year the Schutte’s host a variety of other activities on the farm. In the fall the family also runs a pumpkin patch where they entertain local school fieldtrips and other visitors. During this time there are multiple Halloween themed attractions, hayrides, pony rides, and a petting zoo.

Its vast acreage and scenery lend themselves to a picturesque place for weddings and special events as well.
